Abstract

To run HEVs, industrial drives and consumer electronics from solar power, high voltage gain inverters are required. Z-source inverter is one which provides the higher AC gain. The gain of the inverter can be increased as per demand depending on the number of passive elements and their arrangement. Higher gain Z-source inverter requires more number of passive elements. To keep the passive component count low for achieving high gain, coupled inductor concept is well taken up. This paper presents the coupled inductor based switched boost inverter which has higher gain as compared to its basic inverter with same number of passive element. The analytical analysis, operating principle and control of the proposed converter are presented in this paper. The proposed inverter is validated through simulation.
