Abstract
Este artigo pretende resgatar, por meio da análise da dialogia implícita na troca de cartas, mimese da arte da conversação, a correspondência elegíaca entre António Ferreira e Francisco de Sá de Miranda, de 1553, a respeito da morte do primogênito Gonçalo Mendes de Sá, em cruzada tardia contra o Marrocos, na batalha do Monte de Condessa, onde foi dizimada a fina flor da aristocracia ibérica.
