Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the establishment of the new pension system in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohia after 6th October 1999 as well as the establishment of the United Nations administration in the same area. The paper analyses the role and responsibilities of the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Kosovo and Metohia in the creation of a new pension system in this area. In addition, this work is aimed to challenge the standpoint according to which Serbia is presented as a debtor, due to the fact that since 6th October 1999 it has not performed the payments from its public pension funds in a greater part of the territory of Kosovo and Metohia.
