Abstract
Objective: To investigate the level and structure of intelligence of children with cerebral palsy(CP). To analyze the relationship between intelligence development with severity degree (GMFCS). Methods: 108 children with CP were assessed using Gesell Developmental Scale(GDS) and Gross Motor Function Classification System(GMFCS) to test their developmental quotient(DQ) and severity degree(GMFCS), and the relationship between intelligence development with severity degree (GMFCS) were analyzed. Results: 101 children had found with mental retardation among 108 cases, made up 93.5 pencent. Score of motor behavior(29.08±18.05) was the lowest and score of language behavior(37.96±23.45) was the highest. Severity degree (GMFCS) of children with CP was negative correlated to their score of GDS-DQ(P< 0.01). Conclusion: Most children with CP have metal retardation. Their stucture of intelligence is abnormal. Their motor behavior is the worse and the language behavior is the best. Severity degree (GMFCS) influence intelligence development. More serious of gross motor function in children with CP, more demage to intelligence.
