Abstract

Focusing on a corpus of Post-Classical non-literary texts, I examine contrasting views regarding the emergence of the κ-aorist of the verb ποιέω. I propose two different readings of the form ΕΠΟΙΚΑ found in ancient epigraphic sources. This evidence also sheds new light on the processes that led to the emergence of the verb form in question.
