A copper-free efficient palladium (II)-catalyzed coupling of aryl bromides with terminal alkynes

Abstract

In the absence of Cu(I), using Bu 2NH as base, PdCl 2(PPh 3) 2 showed highly catalytic activity for cross-coupling reactions of a variety of terminal alkynes with both electron-rich (unactivated) and electron-poor aryl bromides in DMF at 60 °C affording internal arylated alkynes in good to excellent yields.
