Abstract

A copper-catalyzed C(sp2)–H alkylsulfonylation of alkenes using alkylsilyl peroxides as the alkyl radical precursors with the insertion of sulfur dioxide was developed, and shown to provide a convenient route to diverse (E)-alkylsulfonyl alkenes.
