Abstract

An account is given of the method of estimating the loss caused by the sugar-cane moth borer ( Diatraea saccharalis ) to the Louisiana sugar crop, as followed by the Bureau of Entomology and the Bureau of Agricultural Economics, U. S. Department of Agriculture. The effect on the Louisiana sugar industry of the publication of the first joint estimate is also noted.
