Abstract

Describes a simple device to cool the target of a SIT camera tube. The simplicity rests on the use of cold nitrogen gas. Since cooling of detectors, multipliers and camera tubes is a common problem, the authors provide a detailed description of the design and performance so that it may be duplicated and modified in any regularly equipped physics laboratory.
