Abstract

This interview took place in New York City on October 19, 1979.SH: Oftentimes, publishers see themselves as editors. For example. Tatyana Grossman conceived of the idea of having Johns work with Beckett, though the project was ultimately carried out by Paul Cornwall-Jones, and of having Rauschenberg work with Robbe-Grillet. Do you find that the proofing and editioning of certain projects is affected by the various publishers and/or printers you have worked with, and how do they differ?
