Abstract

Depression is thought to involve a network of brain regions, but it remains unclear which regions are causally involved. Focal brain lesions and brain stimulation sites provide causal links between neuroanatomy and symptoms. Here, we test whether brain lesions, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) sites, and deep brain stimulation (DBS) sites converge on a common substrate for depression.
