Abstract
1-(2,2-Dichlorovinyl)benzotriazole ( 7 ) was prepared by the reaction of 1-formylbenzotriazole with PPh 3/CCl 4. Lithiation–substitution of 7 with electrophiles gave a variety of functionalized N-(ethynyl)benzotriazoles 8a– h in 32–84% yields.
