Abstract A convenient and simple procedure for the preparation of R3SnX (R = Me, Et, Bun; × = -NC(O)CH=CHC(O), -NC (O)CBr=CBrC (O), -NC (O)CH2CH2C (O), -NC (O)-o-C6H4C (O), -NSO2-o-C6H4C (O), -N[SO2C6H4-Me-p]2 from trialkyltin oxide and the corresponding imide, at room temperature, is described.
