Abstract

A small controlled trial of edathamil calcium disodium in acrodynia (pink disease) showed no statistically significant effect on the progress of the disease nor was there any evidence that elimination of mercury from the body can be accelerated by the use of this chelating agent. Some comments are made on the role of mercury and of therapy in acrodynia.
