Abstract

Objective To investigate the detection rate and correlates of behavior problems among adolescents of Hui nationality in ecological immigrant. Methods Using multistage sampling method, 726 teenagers of Hui nationality among ecological immigrants were selected, and 701 adolescents from local residents and 702 from hometown in Hui nationality were selected as control groups. The Achenbach’s Child Behavior Checklist(CBCL) and a self-made correlates questionnaire were finished by their parents. Results 237 adolescents in Hui nationality of ecological immigrant had behavior problems compared with that of 159 local students, of 186 from original places.The first one’s detection rate of behavior problems was 32.6%, and higher than the others.The next one’s was 22.7% significantly different with the control group(χ2=17.66, P<0.01), and the last one’s was 26.5%, and also significantly different with the first one(χ2=6.47, P<0.05) .Multivariate non-conditioned logistic regression analysis was used to assess the relationship of correlative factors, we found that the risk factors and their corresponding odds ratios for behavior problems were cesarean section, physical defects, the working hours of parents out more than half a year, more than 5 people in a family, more arable land.The protective factors and their corresponding odds ratios for behavior problems were parents’ good emotion, convenience for water use. Conclusion The detection rate of behavior problems in Hui nationality adolescents of ecological immigrant is higher than control groups, and related factors in immigrated life need to give more attention.
