Abstract

The paper is concerned with the evaluation of the total square integrals appearing in the minimization problems of discrete-data systems. The approach suggested hereon is based on the expansion of the expression under the integral into two fractions - one comprising all of its poles inside the integration curve (the unit circle) and the other comprising all of its poles outside the integration curve (the unit circle). Then it is shown that to evaluate the integral one needn't know neither the poles nor the residues of the under integral expression in its poles inside the unit circle (the integration curve).
