Abstract

The distributed services over the Internet have been inter-connected by service composition using Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Service Delivery Platform (SDP) technologies. These technologies were integrated within Service Overlay Network (SON) infrastructure to support managed control and delivery of composite services over multiple network domains. However, previous SON approaches have mainly focused on the transport of the services but little on user's expectation of service delivery. To consider Quality of Experience (QoE) of users in delivery of composite services, we propose a context-aware service composition scheme for SON. In this paper, we introduce the basic concept of SON, and provide a comprehensive review of the proposed ideas by describing system architectures and algorithms.
