Abstract
The Institute of Economics of the USSR Academy of Sciences and the Publishing House for Socio-economic Literature announce a competition for a popular text-book on political economy. The aim of the competition is to render possible creation of a popular text-book presenting basic Marxist-Leninist economic theory in concise and effective form. Conditions for the competition are as follows: 1) The text-book should have in view broad strata of party, trade union and komsomol activists, the city and village intelligentsia engaged in studying political economy in circles, schools of economics or through independent reading, and also students in special secondary schools.
