Abstract

AbstractAn exact analytical solution for an interface crack with an artificial contact zone situated between two piezoelectric semi‐infinite spaces has been found. The classical interface crack model and the contact zone model can be obtained as particular cases of this solution. Analytical relationships between the fracture mechanical parameters of these different models are given. On the base of these relations a numerical algorithm has been developed for the determination of fracture mechanical parameters at an interface crack tip situated in the material interface of a finite‐sized anisotropic piezoelectric bimaterial.
