Abstract

Difficulties in insulation measurements on small components, such as capacitors, arise from the uncertainty regarding the establishment and duration of contact. A simple circuit is described which will give a positive indication. It employs a gas-filled triode and a small neon discharge lamp; an impulse derived from the test circuit extinguishes the glow in the neon lamp over a predetermined period which is unaffected by test conditions.
