Abstract

The DC motor equipped with melt-processed YBCO superconductors as field magnets was constructed. The YBCO bulks were magnetized in the liquid nitrogen by applying a pulse magnetic field. A maximum output of power turned out to be 210W. A continuous running test revealed that the decay in the motor performance is negligibly small over a time interval of approximately 10 hours before the liquid nitrogen is evaporated and the superconductivity breaks.
