Abstract

A constant frequency output-ripple-voltage based CMOS current-mode dc-dc buck converter, providing fast load transient response and reference-tracking speed, is proposed in this paper. Unlike V 2 control output-ripple-voltage based buck converter, the proposed buck converter can achieve fast and stable load transient response without relying on ESR value of output capacitor. In addition, the proposed converter has faster reference-tracking speed than V 2 the control counterparts by about 25 times.
