Abstract

The author reflects on various aspects of American health care and public health during the eight-year-long tenure of U.S. President Barack Obama, and it mentions Obama's legacy and the passage of the nation's Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. According to the article, more than 20 million formerly uninsured Americans obtained health insurance coverage during Obama's presidency. Population health management and electronic health records are assessed.
