Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new document protection scheme, called Confused Document Encrypting Scheme (CDES). The method used by the presented scheme is a completely new one for document protection. The main principal of the secure system is that we do not need to send an encrypted plaintext directly, however, we send a meaningful cheating text and an encrypted special index file to the receiver. The most significant characteristic of this method is that it owns the cheating function, and an unauthorized person cannot know whether the message he receives is the real or the cheating one. Besides, the proposed scheme can he seen as a combination of steganography and cryptography; both of the two techniques are integrated. We also developed a software program to implement the proposed encrypting and decrypting algorithms.
