Abstract

Increasing interest in systematics among biological scientists and the escalating demands for diverse taxonomic services by the user community in the biological and environmental sciences make this symposium timely and quite significant. This symposium was convened to consider the need for strong support for systematics collections and systematic entomology, discussed present conditions of various entomological collections and current activities associated with them, and clearly pointed out the important roles played by systematic entomology and systematics collections in entomological research.
