Abstract
In the synthesis of (2 R,2′ R)- THREO-(+)-methylphenidate, a ring-closing metathesis approach was adopted to construct the -piperidine ring, while Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation was used for the efficient generation of two contiguous stereocenters.
