Abstract
(−)-Invictolide, a component of the queen recognition pheromone of Solenopsis invicta, was stereoselectively synthesized starting from (−)-carvone, where the regioselective carbon-carbon bond cleavage reaction of γ-halo ester with samarium diiodide was successfully involved as an important reaction.
