Abstract

A concise binomial model including time-dependent term and cycle-dependent term is proposed in this paper in order to characterize fatigue crack growth rate at high temperature. The specific functional forms of the time-dependent term are derived for several materials, and then the characteristic dwell times corresponding to the most significant interaction effect are determined. Besides, the contribution of the time/cycle-dependent term to the total crack growth rate of the model at different stress intensity factor range ΔK levels is discussed. The research achievements are helpful to support the damage tolerance analysis of high temperature structures in service.
