Abstract

Abstract Since the beginning of social work education, field education has been considered a vital component of every social work program. Yet social work educators for the most part have been unwilling to commit themselves to a specific set of objectives in field education. The purpose of this paper is to determine the level of specificity of objectives and content achieved in field education programs, to analyze the structure and function of field education monitoring and evaluation systems, and to propose a framework for modularizing field education content that will achieve a high degree of precision in its teaching and learning.
