Abstract

The present paper analyzed the conception of managers and teachers about the role of Physical Education (PE) in the special school. We opted for a qualitative descriptive research, in which the subjects were two management team members e and two PE teachers from a special school in the interior of state of Paraná, Brazil. For data gattering, an open questions questionnaire was chosen and a data analysis was organized by thematic axes. The main finds have showed that PE in the special school, in the subject conceptions, towards what is recommended by the guidelines that guide PE in the APAE network. Regarding the connection between managers and PE teachers, the answers have indicated that the managers seek to provide a close and healthy relationship with the teachers. However, there was evidence in the teachers' notes that the relationship should need further adjustments in order to establish a connection that contributes to everyone. In this way, it is necessary for school management to understand PE immediately, in addition to the "to do" or the free moment when nothing is produced.
