Abstract

ABSTRACTA high-fidelity two-dimensional axial symmetrical multi-physics model is established to analyze and predict the performance of a recently discovered solid oxide metal-air redox battery (SOMARB). In particular for this study, the effects of the parameters used in the charge cycle including current density, depth-of-discharge and kinetic rate of Fe3O4-reduction on the performance have been systematically investigated. Three strategies are subsequently developed with goal of achieving a balanced specific energy and cycle efficiency for the best performance of SOMARB.
