Abstract
Corresponding to Moore’s test for the interval Newton method, a computational ball test is given for the existence of solutions to nonlinear operator equations using the region contraction algorithm developed in K. Nickel [SIAM J. Numer. Anal., 18 (1981), pp. 988–1003] and Z. You, Z. Xu, and K. Liu [J. Engrg. Math., 1 (1984), pp. 17–28].
