Abstract

To effectively solve the problem about how to map service function chainings (SFCs) in data center over elastic optical network (DC-EON), a comprehensive service function chainings mapping algorithm based on betweenness centralities (CSM-BC) is proposed, which aims at assisting the mapping of both virtual nodes and links in network function virtualization (NFV) scenarios, corresponding to virtual network function (VNF) deployments and virtual link routing with spectrum allocations, respectively. This proposed algorithm concurrently considers betweenness centralities of DC nodes, reuses of VNFs and comprehensive link weights in the substrate network to accomplish SFCs mapping. The simulation results indicate that CSM-BC deploys fewer VNFs and occupies less spectral units than existing algorithms.
