Abstract

Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) has attained remarkable consideration due to its impact on several attractive appliances. Recently, routing in WMSN has become an active research field. The data transmission in WMSN is based on a routing protocol that determines the resource-efficient and stable path with improved Quality-of-Service (QoS). This survey intends to make a review of 25 papers concerning energy-efficient routing in WMSN. Accordingly, systematic analyses of the adopted techniques are carried out and presented briefly. In addition, the analysis of performance measures and related maximum achievements are also reviewed from each contribution. Finally, the survey portrays numerous research problems and weaknesses that may be supportive for researchers to introduce the latest techniques on the energy-efficient routing in WMSN.
