Contingency management is an intensive behavioral intervention for difficult-to-treat smokers and may be an effective model for delivery of care to this underserved population for whom little guidance exists for effective treatment approaches.ProblemCigarette smoking remains a major public health concern in the United States, with higher prevalence rates in several special populations.
