Abstract

Right Half Plane zero is present in many common power converter topologies such as boost and buck boost families. This paper illustrates the fundamental limit it imposes on the maximum achievable bandwidth and the effects it has on the controller design process. An analytical equation is derived to compute the best possible gain crossover frequency for a converter with a Right Half Plane zero.
