Abstract

For the first time is reported the 347 nm and 360 nm ultraviolet up-conversion luminescence phenomenon of crystalline TmP 5O 14 at room temperature induced by a pulsed DCM dye laser. It is found that the 360 nm up-conversion flourescence is two-photon fluorescence and 347 nm up-conversion fluorescence is three-photon fluorescence. It is very interesting that the up-conversion mechanism of 347 nm fluorescence is a compound process involving both ESA and APTE mechanisms.
