Abstract

A method for the preparation of a composite material (CM) strengthened by alumina particles with a columnar structure on the basis of a VKNA-4U alloy is described. The method includes the preparation of heat-resistant nickel alloy powders with a particle size of ≤100 μm. The resulting matrix alloy powders are subjected to spraying and mechanical alloying with an Al2O3 reinforcing additive in an attritor and then to extrusion and subsequent rolling. The process parameters of the preparation of a CM based on the nickel aluminide–alumina system are determined. The developed material is intended for advanced aircraft engines, primarily uncooled and hollow highand low-pressure turbine blades and other parts and assemblies of an uncooled turbine. The physicomechanical properties of the resulting powdered material are studied.
