Abstract

The production and energy coupling system model provides the necessary foundation for the analysis and optimization of the collaboration among energy flow, material flow and information flow in process industry. Based on the thoroughly analysis of production pattern for process industry, this paper combines multiple Petri net modeling methods and adopts the component based encapsulation concept and presents a Component based Hybrid Petri Net (CpnHPN) approach. This approach is capable of precisely defining energy flow, material flow and information flow and their interaction and as well as can compensate for the complicated model structure, tedious modeling process and non-reusable model behaved by the currently existing Hybrid Petri Net methodology. CpnHPN can be used to model the production and energy coupling system of the process industry in a kind of hierarchical, modular and renewable way. In this paper, the architecture of CpnHPN is provided, followed by the corresponding model definition. A practical example is finally illustrated to describe the application of CpnHPN.
