Abstract

A case of severe local and systemic reaction three weeks following skin testing with Ethiodol is presented. Presenting complications included swelling of both hands and eyelids with pruritis of the eyes, ears, and feet. Radiography demonstrated globules of opaque material in the cutaneous and subcutaneous regions. Clinical history and biopsy suggested an immunological response, although the immunological studies did not confirm this. The implications of this problem are discussed.
