Abstract

Power communication network which uses the network information equipments to accomplish information exchange for electrical power production and enterprises operating is the basic platform of electric power system. In order to ensure the security of power communication network, a vulnerability analysis method based on complex network theory is proposed here. A new edge between ness index and the edge between ness distribution attack approach is used in this method. First of all, the weighted network topology model based on complex network theory is constructed and the geometric parameters which contain average path length, node degree, node between ness, and edge between ness are described. Then the vulnerability evaluation index is designed. At last, the spread mechanism of failure is used to identify the vulnerable nodes and vulnerable edges in the network. In the simulation, an actual power communication network is attacked by different failure models. The impact of structural vulnerability to the network is analyzed and the most vulnerable positions of this network are identified.
