Abstract

A mixed two-sublattice ferrimagnetic Ising system with a crystal field interaction D is investigated by the use of the effective-field theory with correlations. We find that the two types ( Q- and N-types) for the thermal dependence of magnetization are possible. In particular, the compensation point is obtained for a negative value of D in a restricted region.
