Abstract
This paper is aimed to discuss a novel compensated coaxial tester for measuring the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of planar materials in a wider frequency ranges up to 3GHz than ASTM D4935–2010 standard. The proposed method overcomes high return loss in desired band caused by discontinuities. Simulations show that compensated method has greatly improved the performance of such tester. In the end, we get the values of voltage standing-wave ratio(VSWR), which shows that the proposed tester overcomes the limitation of ASTM D4935 standard concerning the upper operating frequency.
