Abstract

Background: Tonsillectomy is one of the most commonly performed ear, nose and throat (ENT) procedures in Australia. Its most clinically significant complication is post tonsillectomy haemorrhage (PTH). This is especially important in regional settings as access to ENT services can be limited. Therefore, identifying the most suitable surgical technique and risk factors is crucial.
