Abstract

Summary form only given, as follows. A comparison of three meshless methods based on radial basis functions is performed for the numerical solution of electromagnetic eigenvalue problems. The convergence rates of selected examples show surprisingly similar performance despite different formulations. When compared to finite-element implementations, the meshless methods appear more accurate and efficient. A combination with adaptive node refinement makes meshless methods very promising for electromagnetic simulations.
