A Comparison of the Onset of Action and Duration of Action of Olopatadine Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution 0.7% to Loratadine 10 mg in Preventing Ocular Itching in Subjects with Allergic Conjunctivitis

Abstract

This study evaluated the efficacy of 2 over-the-counter products indicated for ocular itching. It was hypothesized that a single-dose of Pataday® Once Daily Relief Extra Strength (olopatadine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution 0.7%) would be more effective than a single-dose of Claritin® Tablets 24-Hour (loratadine 10mg) in preventing ocular itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis.
