Abstract

A new boundary-integral method without using Green's function for solving Dirichlet- and Neumann-type boundary-value problems of a two-dimensional scalar wave equation has been recently proposed. In the present article we compare this new method with the field matching method. It has been found that the eigenvalue equation derived from the new boundary-integral method is identical to that derived from the field matching method.
