Abstract

There have been many articles written about teaching experiences in China by Americans and other Westerners. These articles suffer obsolescence to some degree because of the rapid changes taking place in China, and most of them are written by Americans who teach Chinese students majoring in English or liberal arts. This article analyzes the teaching, in English, of a highly technical course, Management Information Systems, to Chinese students of Accounting. This article analyzes the teaching of Management Information Systems, a highly technical course in English, to Chinese accounting majors. The analysis of the comparative teaching situations of the course in China and the U.S. is based on Czinkota, Ronkainen, and Moffett's “elements” of culture.
