Abstract

The occupational therapy and rehabilitation therapy services working at Broadmoor Hospital, West London Mental Health Trust (WLHMT), have recently come together under one management structure. This merger led to the idea of measuring the work environment of both services to establish any differences or commonalities to provide a baseline measurement to inform future service developments. This practice analysis explores which dimensions of the work environment effect the staff's satisfaction/dissatisfaction. A descriptive research design was chosen, using a quantitative questionnaire from the Work Environment Scale to sample both groups. Results indicate that within the group profiles there are a number of dimensions to address to improve the working environment.
