Abstract

This paper presents research methods applied for calculation of a transported bed load of large lowland rivers. The research area consists of two measurement profiles on the Vistula River (Poland) in its lower course. The part with results shows the output of two research approaches used by the authors to determine the capacity of bed load transport. The first one concerned the presentation of own field measurements which involved testing sand bar dynamics with surveying and cartographic methods. The second approach was application of calculation methods in the form of a simple mathematic formula developed for the Vistula River by [1].This paper presents research methods applied for calculation of a transported bed load of large lowland rivers.
